HOW IT STARTED

What started as a simple curiosity about cold-process soapmaking in 2023, quickly turned into a passion. I was drawn to the simplicity of the ingredients and the beauty of creating something both practical and kind to the environment. Armed with a few borrowed library books and some late-night video tutorials, I crafted my very first batch of soap. Before long, my kitchen transformed into a mini soap workshop, and those early creations became thoughtful, handmade gifts for family and friends.

The joy these soaps brought to others inspired me to turn this hobby into something more—a way to offer natural, responsibly sourced products that people can feel good about using every day.

As I honed my craft, I dove deeper into the world of soapmaking ingredients. I quickly realized that not all ingredients are created equal—some have a much gentler impact on our planet than others. This sparked a question that wouldn’t leave my mind: How much attention do the soaps we buy really pay to the sustainability of their ingredients and packaging?

I discovered that many soaps on the market still rely on synthetic fragrance oils and artificial color additives—choices that didn’t align with my values. I knew there had to be a better way, one that truly minimizes harm to the environment.

In 2024, I started Trailhead Soap Company and made it our mission to seek out suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability, offering ingredients that are ethically and responsibly sourced. We also wanted to highlight essential oils distilled from plants grown here in Oregon.

Every batch of soap we create is a reflection of that commitment—to reduce our environmental footprint and provide products you can feel good about using.
